RE-UNION AT SUVA
LOCAL TROOPS CELEBRATE
"BAY OF PLENTY" MENU
The high spirits of Whakatant? lads now serving with the Army in Fiji is reflected in a menu of a re-union dinner held at the Club Hotel on January 10 f which autographed by those Avho attended, has been received recently. The letter accompanj'ing the menu omits to mention whether or not the "sick parade'" was larger than usual orj
the following morning, but a glance at tlie list of delectable dishes chosen suggests that it was highly probable, and also indicates that, al-
though the Army meals served are without doubt wholesome and satisfying, the art of a real connoisseur was enlisted to arrange the list of dishes for this special occasion.
A definite disinclination to depart from their Bay of Plenty (particularly the plenty) tastes is indicated, and although it is doubtful that the chefs in that part of the Pacific have emulated the finesse in culinary art hitherto enjoyed by the lads it is evident by the correspondence received that the event w r as most satisfactory.
The menu cover bore the follow-! ing inscription—"Kia. Whakatane Aliau E Au," Suva-nier Menu Card —Re-union dinner, Whakatane Dis-
