DEATH OF MAORI
HIRJNI KOHU _ 1 A tangi is being held at present at Matapihi for Hirini Kohu, who died on Sunday last aged 70 years.Kohu was a widower with 8 children and was a member of the Ranginui tribe Judea. He was well respected by both Maori and pakelia races. Over 500 Maoris are at the tang!, including parties from Coromandel, Whakatane, Matakana, Motiti as well as numbers of Tauranga natives.
