Sir.—ls it usual fo>r trawlers to simply scour the Oliope Beach for fish during the holiday season. 1 ask this merely because as a visitor to your beautiful resort, I was honestly astounded to see a fully equipped trawler operating along the whole length of the beach on a recent morning. Surely those fishermen should have the?. decency to leave the shore fishing alone when there arc many hundreds of holiday makers endeavouring to enjoy a little line fishing during the one holiday they have in the whole of the year. With the whole of the open "waters of the Bay of Plenty at their disposal I cannot understand the mentality of professional fishermen who regardless of others simply push into a resort such as Ohope clean it out of fish, ami thus deprive several score of Hnes-
