Mortality Amongst Cows. number of farmers throughout the Opotiki district are feeling, the urgent need of a veterinary surgeon -as the result of a large numbgr lof •deaths which have occurred among their herds. The cause of death has been a mystery tG many farmers, -the trouble being more serious in the Waiotahi district. A number of farmers have expressed their willigness to subscribe to a fund to maintain a veterinary surgeon in the district, and this is a question' which the Farmers' Union might -well consider, says the Opotiki News
