THE HOSPITAL BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING HELD TENDER FOR BUILDING ACCEPTED The Bay of Plenty Hospital Board, Messrs J. W. Sumner, chairman, R. W, Scho/ield, L. Buddie, F. J. Burt, F. J. Savage, C. A. Suckling, A. F. McGougan, Dr. E. Tewsley DaAvson and Mr A. secrertary, made an inspection of the hospital and grounds prior to the monthly meeting. The Board was impressed with the improvements made.

Among the business dealt with was consideration of the tenders received for additions to the buildings. The Board accepted the tender of Messrs Boon, Sullivan, Luke for both additions to the maternity annexe and shifting the isolation block, and additions to the domestic quarters. The respective amounts were £4285 10s and £1054.

The Medical Superintendent's report showed 105 admissions to the hospital during November. There were 116 discharges, 3 deaths, atnd the total remaining in hospital at the end of the month vras 47. The daily average occupied beds was 52. Minor operations totalled 46 and. 7 major operations were performed.
