MR RUNNERSTRUM S FURTHER GESTURE PAYMENT OF RAFFLE EXPENSES Mr E. Runnerstrum, donor of the £14)0 worth of prizes for the very successful raffle recently conducted by the Whakatane County and Bov--ough Inter-Zone Patriotic Committee, displays further generosity in the campaign i'or jiatriotic funds. In a letter to Mr C. G. The letter reads: "I was very pleased to seeJWiat the total return for the raffle *5* ted just over £500j, -and it might interest you to know that our golf raffle here netted £800. The raffle towards the Nurses' Queen -came out just on £500, so altogether the returns of the raffies I have been interested in have panned out exceedingly well considering the t .-great amount of money collected for the various patriotic purposes. 'T enclose my cheque for the detailed' expenditure and this will evi•dently square with my promise to pay all expenses, but if there should be anything more to pay you will no doubt let me know. "It may be that in the future I anight again be of some assistance . to you as no doubt this war of will take a lot more to support all the organisations which help to ease the Avay for our soldiers at the j -front.'* ' .
