On the evening of Saturday, Nov- <• ember 9,, llai Kapoor was assulted in the Strand by two Maoris. One, Joe Hona, was arrested and later sentenced to" one month's imprisonment when he appeared in the Police "Court, Tli© other, Avona Paul, o labourer, of Pahu, was missing .when the police arriveel but he was traced and arrested on Friday morn- * ing by Sergeant Farrell.

These were the facts outlined by Sergeant Farrell when Paul appeared before Messrs G. A. Brabant and J: *G. Mulliolland, Justices of the Peace, on Friday afternoon. Pleading" 'was sentenced to one montlflßpprisonment.
