THE HOME GUARD
APPEAL FOR RECRUITS — . BOROUGH ENROLMENT ARRANGEMENTS The central committee of Ihe Home Guard, representing the Returned Soldiers' Association,, Whakatane Borough Council, Chamber, of Commerce and local Trades' Unions, requests every British-born male subject over the age of 16 years, in the patriotic area of the Borough, to enrol in the Home Guard. ' All men, whether eligible for the ballot or not, are required, and it is hoped that, in view of the necessity of commencing training, at the earliest moment, enrolment will be completed by the 29th instant.
Members of the committee will enrol applicants at the Borough Council Chambers on the following (lays: To-day, Friday, November 22nd, 5 p.m.-6 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. .Saturday, 23rd November 10 a.m. to noon. Tuesday, 26th November to Friday. 29th November (inclusive) 5. p.m. to 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
