FINE IMPOSED
NEGLIGENT DRIVING CHARGE
Charging Joe Takurua with driving without due care and attention on the Whakatane-Taneatua Road on July 6th, Sergeant M. Farreil told Mi- E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday that defendant had been responsible for an accident near the Public Works Department's yards on that date. It was quite evident defendant was not keeping a proper look-out, said the Sergeant, but in fairness lie would have to state that defendant had since been convicted on a more Serious charge and had lost his license. Takurua was fined £1 and costs.
