AVOIDANCE OF MISTAKES RETURNED MAN'S WARNING "When these young men come back Ave hope the same mistakes Avill not be made in repatriating them as were made after the last Avar," said the president of the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association, referring to repatriation at a reunion of the Old Comrades' Association. "The association has been s.tudjring this problem for 20 years," Colonel CoAvles said. "If the GoA rernment wants the association's opin ion all the information gathered will be made available. We hope that representatiAres of the Returned Soldiers' Association Avill be given a place on the Repatriation Board. "There has been one suggestion that the men should be giA'en £5 a Aveek Avlicn they return. That AA r oilld be fatal. Let us see that every, man gets employment Avhen- he returns and a reasonable Avage. When he has settled doAA r n, give him a few hundred pounds if you Avant to. In repatriation we want to co-opt the services of all the skilled men in the country to get those men back into positions. "AIJ soldiers coining back Avant to go on the land. I do not know aa t liv. A man has to be trained as a farmer these days to make a liA-ing off the land. We are t.oav at thei parting of the Avays and Ave have to handle the positiou very carefully. We Avant the support of the people,, the confidence of the Government, and to rope in these" young people Avhen they come back."
