A TAME GUY FAWKES
FEW CRACKERS AVAILABLE JUyENILE ANTICIPATION To-morrow marks /he anniversary of the notorious Gun Powder' "Plot, when the poor misguided Guy Fawkcs endeavoured to blow up the English houses of Parliament. The actual anniversary is forgotten these days in the excitement afforded the juvenile population by the free license given to set off crackers to I heir heart's content, and be the spectators of the annual bon-fire. This year however owing to the importation difficulties stocks of fireworks comprise little more than the 'left-overs' from past .years, and there is little likelihood of the same colour and enthusiasm so much in evidence in the past. In spite of handicaps tliere are still many young hearts which cling passionately to tradition and numerous bon-fires are being prepared and we know of at least one youngster who has a stock of home-made fireworks. He will probably be giv j eh a wide berth to-morrow evening when he sets them off.
