FRENCH TRIALS
DALADIER'S OUTBURST "IT I have tc go to the scaffold T will drag Petain with me," cried M. Daladier, former French Premier, during his preliminary examination in the' "war guilt" trials. This report of the trials comes from Harold Cardozo, Daily Mail representative on the Franco-Spanish border. Daladier said that the Army In-spectors-General.s of, whom Marshall Petain. was one, reported that everything was perfect and now say that the army was neglected.' Thcv also should be summoned before the bar, Daladier, in particular, is calling for reports which Petain made when Inspector-General of Infantry and the minutes of various meetings of the Supreme War Council, which Petain attended. Cardozo adds that it may be difficult to obtain the documents, because of confusion in the War Office after the flight from Paris, but already it is clear that Daladier intends to accuse, rather than ,to defend.
