No. 1 LICENSING AUTHORITY ' *■ - - - i WHAKATANE LIST | There was a comparatively light list of applications before Mr E. J. Phelan, No. 1 Licensing Authority, sitting at the Whakatane Courthouse yesterday. In most instances applications were granted though several goods licenses were held over. C. T. Flank (Mr Hamerton) sought the transfer of a taxi license from G. S. McConnochie, who was now in camp in the Air Force. Granted. A. L. Amos, (Mr Barry) sought a passenger service license which would enable him to take passengers on the school run and on contract trips. The iirst request was granted and the second held 'over pending the hearing of other similar applications. The Bay of Plenty Hospital Board (Mr Suckling) applied l'or a speciaJ passenger service license (Ambulance). Granted. P. Anderson (Mr G. Otlcy) applied for the transfer of a goods service license from D, Wilson, Taneatua. Granted. . J. H. Hewitson (Mr. Barry) seeking a similar license on transfer from L. Natrass was also successful. G. E. Wray (Mr Barry) obtained a reserved decision in connection with his application for the renewal of his goods services license. L. G. Appletoivs application was withdrawn.' T. Tamarau's application for a goods license renewal was adjourn-" ed as was K. Wano's (Mr Suckling) whose counsel was. instructed to make written submission within seven days. E. R. Biddle and Sons goods "license was renewed, but an application for contract trips was lield over.
