FAREWELL TO MR L. ORMOND PRESENTATION MADE Representatives of the Whakatanc Rugby sub-Union, tlie Referees' Association and the Whakatane Star Football Club tendered a fareavcll social to Mr L. Ormond in the Winter Show Hall last evening. In making a presentation of a fountain pen, the president of the Rugby Union, Mr W. S. Henderson, referred to Mr Ormond's outstanding contribution to sport in this district, particularly to Rugby football and athletics. He was sure that he" would continue his interest in sport in the district to which he was transferring and wished him the best of luck for the future. Mr F. Peebles expressed the sentiments of Taneatua sportsmen, Mr Ormond, in responding, saying that he would always look back with pleasure on the time spent in Whakatane.
