THREE YOUNG MEN ARRESTED THEFT OF OIL FUEL Appearing before Justices of the Peace at Opotiki yesterday, three young men, John Alexander Caulfield, aged 19; James Smith, alias Keefe, aged 19; and Owen Swan, aged 21, were charged with the theft of oil fuel from a Lands and Survey Department dredge at Otakiri. On the application of the police the accused were remanded to appear at Whakatane. _ It is understood that other charges of theft, including benzine, will be preferred.
