Letters on the lines of the Works •Committee's suggestion were approved by the council and were forwarded to the respective parties, with the addition: "The council feels that the position has reached .a stage where further Court proceedings would be considered bj' the magistrate to be farcical and trivial" The chairman said that the Works -Committee had given the matter much consideration and thought that an attempt should be made to reach a solution. If a conference •could be arranged it might-be possible to arrive at an understanding acceptable to both.
