GREAT FLIGHT

MODEL AEROPLANE'S JOURNEY FOUR MILES AT 2000 FEET The members of the Whakatane Model Aeroplane Club had quite a thrill on Sunday when a 'plane belonging to Mr F. H. Stewart eclipsed all former local records in a flight at Awakeri. Taking off with the aid of a l/7tli li.p, Olsen petrol motor, the "Flying Bathtub." which has a span of four feet, quickly gained height. The motor cut out in fifty seconds .;and the 'plane soared to a height estimated at 2000 feet, where it was lost to sight for some time. After a flight of 45 minutes it made a perfect landing at a point four miles away from its take-off.
