A Smart Sprinter. The Wanganui owned Amigo, is getting through a solid preparation and is expected to be about the top of his form for the Wellington meeting. Later a trip to Ellerslie for the Christmas-New Year meeting is being' ararnged for the Beau Pere horse. . Increased Distance. The Ace mare, Llangollen, who has lately been running in sprint events, is topweight in the Tally Ho Handicap at the Rotorua meeting with 9.13. The distance is a mile and a quarter and 180 yards, just ia Avee bit too far for those entrants who still rank as moderates. For Jumping Contests. Among the entrants for the Hack and Hunters' Hurdles at Rotorua is the Hunting Song—Lucky Alice representative, Eupatrid. It would therefore appear that he is likely to be listed among the hurdlers in future, although it is possible lie would pay his way-in flat events for the rest of the season. A Surprise Entry. What may be termed a surprise entry for the Rotorua meeting is that of Konneta, whose name appears in the nominations for the Flying Handicap. Last season this Bulandshar filly proved very difficult to train, and it was decided to retire her to the paddock, if landed at the post fit and well she should take a prominent part in the decision of the race referred'to with only 7.6 to carry. Striking Form. Hunter's Rose, a member of R. S, Bagby's Ellerslie team, is again getting into racing trim, and has lately been, reeling off her three iurlongs sprint in 38 sees. This Hunting Song mare is engaged at the Rotorua Hunt meeting on the 19tli.
