RUNNERSTRUM RAFFLE
SUCCESSFUL SALES CAMPAIGN FRIDAY EVENING'S EFFORT With the generous assistance of the Citizens' Band and a concert party, the Whakatane Men's Patriotic Committee conducted a very successful campaign for the sale of Runnerstrum Raffle tickets in the Strand on Friday evening, £26 ,10s ; representing 530 tickets being realised. Selections were provided by the band and items were presented by Mrs K. Armstrong, at the piano, the Poroporo school children under the direction of Mr Boswell and by Mr M. W. C. Claris. All were well re ceivcd by a consistently large crowd It is proposed to stage a like effort in a fortnight's time. !
