A kiosk will shortly open on the t / corner of Martin Place and Phillip street, where alfresco teas will be served, the. food being donations from the Jewish women, and total profits,, which are expected to £100 a week, to be given to the Lord Mayor's Patriotic and War Fund. ' These will be controlled by the Women's Emergency Board of the W National Council of Jewish Women, of which Dr Fanny Reading is president. Since the outbreak of war the Jew i sh women have given more than 3000 garments to the Lord Mayor's jFund, and every Monday between €0 and 80 women meet in the club • Tooms, 374 George Street, to do knitting and machining. In addition, they have equipped and furnished a ■ward, containing 12 beds, at St. Anne's Convalescent Home for Soldiers in Waverley. This home is under the direction of the Red Cross Society.
