DRIVE FOR SALE OF RAFFLE TICKETS . FRIDAY EVENING'S EFFORT Mention the word 'raffle' in Wliakataiie and, although there are numerous raffles in progress, one automatically thinks of that for prizes donated by Mr E. Runnerstruih. 'The Runnerstrum Raffle' it is. called and the prizes are substantial — a refrigerator and an 8-valve radio being the first two. On Friday evening, between 7 pan and S p.m., the Whakatane Men's Patriotic Committee w T ill conduct a 'big push' in the S"tarnd for the sale of 'Runnerstrum Raffle' tickets. The Citizens* Band will be on the job, providing selections dining the hour, and a concert party mounted on a truck, with Mrs K. Armstrong at the piano, will attract the public's attention while the ticket sellers get to 'work. For the information of the public the following members of the committee will undertake the sales: Messrs J.. Savage, L. Littlejohn, T. Harland, W. F. K. Raymond, W. S. Henderson, H. G. Rand, W. Sullivan, C. W. Good and A, (Taffy') Atkinson.

Also for the information of the public it is announced that badges will be issued to those purchasing tickets. -
