NARROW ESCAPE

ACCIDENT AT TE TEKO I ■ r CAR OVERTURNS ON BEND A narrow escape from serious injury was experienced by two serving Territorials on their way from Auckland to Whakatane on Wednesday night. Turning a bend on the Te Teko-Whakatane main road, near the Galatea turn-off, the car, a large sedan, struck a ridge of loose metal mounded near the side of the road. The car swerved and overturned into a drain. Though all windows were shattered the occupants -escaped with a shaking and minor bruises.
