RANCHER'S RIDE

3000 MILES BY ''BULL-BACK'* VISIT TO THE WORLD FAIR An amusing description of the arrival at New York of a rancher who had travelled 3000 miles on "■bullback" to visit the World's Fair is given in an American exchange. A bull as docile as Ferdinand meandered complacently through Times Square traffic ending a 3000mile trek across the continent, during which, saddled and bridled, he was ridden by Ted Terry of Butte, Mont. . Setting a record for "bull-back" riding, Mr Terry began his trek at Ketchum, Idaho, in July, 1937. Riding during summer months and working as an entertainer in the winter, he took three years to complete the journey. His average. day's trip was live or six miles. The final lap from Chicago took 15 weeks. In addition to the bull, Ohadi, Mr Terry was accompanied by his col-> lie, Skipper, and a 15 year old white mare, which carried the sleeping bag and supplies. They visited the Fair - and will be there for farm work.
