WEDDING BELLS

CLEAVER —LUKE. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the residence of the bride's parents, Awakeri, on Saturday, September 7th, when Norma, twin daughter of Mr and Mrs A. L. Luke, was married to Eric James, youngest son ol' Mr and Mrs J. W< Cleaver of Pongakawa. The Rev. J. H. Starnes conducted the service and the wedding music was played by Mrs K, Stewart, aunt of the bride. The bride, who was giVen away by her father, wore a lovely gown of magnolia slipper satin styled on Empire lines. The yoke was of fine needlerun lace and the sleeves and long oval train had insets of the same lace. A veil of tulle fell gracefully from a coronet of cream roses and she. carried a sheaf arum lilies. The bride was attended by her twin sister, Mrs Charles Wickham, as Matron of Honour, who was frocked in mauve shot taffeta, with mauve spray in her hair and carried a posy of mauve and pink flowers, The little flower girl, Nancy Sinclair, wore a period frock of pink silk net over pink satin with; a pink bow in her hair and carried a silver horse shoe with white, flowers. . ; . ■Mr Rex Cleaver, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man. Mrs Luke received her guejsts wearing a navy silk frock with grey fur, navy hat and accessories ! and carried a posy of nemesias. Mrs Cleaver, mother of the bridegroom, wore a London tan silk crepe frock and hat fox fur with matching accessories, and carried a posy of wallflowers and* primroses. The reception was held in the Awakeri Hall which was tastefully decorated with Iceland poppies, daffodils and frecsias.The happy couple later left bv car for a tour of the, north. Hhe bride travelled in a black silk frock under a mirage blue coat, black hat and accessories. The bride and bride groom's future home will be in Auckland.
