OFF TO CAMP

is EXT week will see further forty-eight volunteers from this district entrain for camp for overseas service. Whakatane's quota has been more than filled and the district s contribution to the military forces is a record of which all may be proud. The new batch brings the total up to approximately 550, and as previously stated in this paper the local men who volunteered for service could quite comfortably provide a complete infantry battalion of their own. The men going into camp during the course of the week carry with them the same goodwill afforded members of earlier contingents from this district. Town and country are proud of them and join in extending to them the warmest congratulations, and the best expressions of good luck.
