LEGISLATION PROVISION DETAILS MADE CLEAR Fen- the information of the Association's members who are farmers, the effect of new legislation in respect to their vehicles is published as follows by the Automobile Association (Auckland) in its current issue of the magazine:— Provision is made under the.Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations, 1940.that came into force oil the Ist June, 19-10, that fanners' trucks which do not exceed 5 tons gross weight are entitled to a 50 per cent remission on heavy traffic fees in respect to these vehicles. A heavy traffic disc, issued accordingly to o farmer's truck, Avill have the capital letters "F.T." marked boldly in red ink on. the face of the same when it is issued. The definition of a farmer's truck:, in its simplest form, is a truck that belongs to a farmer that does not exceed 5 tons in gross weight and is used solely in connection with that farmer's own farming business. It is to be noted here that if this vehicle is used to assist farmer's neighbours in the carriage of their milk, fencing wire ,ete., tlien full fees are payable. It is an offence to operate a heavy motor vehicle licensed as a farmer's truck, unless the vehicle is in fact used exclusively. as a farmer's truck,
