PUBLIC NOTICES RANGITAIKI LAND DRAINAGENOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE i AND LEVY GENERAL RATES. Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, 16th September, 1940. Notice is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, and ffrs amendments, to make and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the district constituted under the said Act, the general rates to meet maintenance costs for the period Ist April, 1910, to 31st March,, 1941, as described in the Schedule hereto. The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 30th day of October, 1940, together with the special rates already made and levied. The valuation roll of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, .Chief Drainage Engineer's Office, Room 45, Government Buildings, Customs Street, West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Land Drainage Engineer, at Thornton, near Whakatane, at all times at Avhieh those olfices are open for the transaction of public business. SCHEDULE. Class A. —On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the arbitrators appointed under Section 6 of the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act 1910, three pence and twentysix one-hundredths of a penny (3.26 d) in the pound,. Class B. —On the unimproved value of alt lands so classified as Class B, twopence and seventeen one-hundredths of n penny (2.17 d) in the pound. Class C. —On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, one penny and eight one-hundredths of a penny (1.08 d) in the pound. Class D. —On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class I>, thirty-six one-hun-dredths of a penny (.36d) in the pound. FRANK LANGSTONE, 121 Minister of Lands. NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute certain jjublic works—to wit, the construction of road and a State highway depot—and for the purposes of such public works the land described in the First Schedule hereto is required to be taken for road and the land described in the Second Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a State highway depot: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Matata and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public works or by the taking of the said lands should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
