OTAKIRI CARNIVAL DANCE A record crowd was present at the O'takiri Hall for the "Carnival Dance" organised by the Otakiri Patriotic Committee. Dancing was enjoyed to the strains of the Rhythm Pirates Orchestra, while Mrs Armstrong's Orchestra played two extrasj Items by the Rotorua Pipe Band proved a popular feature of , the evening, while a tap dance and an Irish Jig presented by Miss Johansen, were greatly appreciated. Merriment was caused by Mr R. Dunning's bag-pipe burlesque, which featured a live pig with a very live squeak. The Monte Carlo won won by Miss I. Corbett and Mr Chris Hampton, and the Spot Waltz by Mr P. Brady and partner. The duties of M.C. were ably carried out by Mr O. Lord.
