FATALITY AT MATATA
YOUNG MAN CRUSHED BY TRACTOR MACHINE CAPSIZES Crushed beneath a tractor' on a farm at Matata, a young man, Hamilton Jollre Clark, aged 25, suffered rsevere injuries from which he succumbed shortly afterwards. The accident occurred at about 9.30 a.m. yesterday, when Mr Clark was engaged in hauling sledge loads of wood from the bush on a property known as Wilson's farm. He had hauled out a load and had changed sledges. Proceeding about live 01* six •chains, on the return journey, the tractor was observed to capsize and roll down a bank into a small creekr The machine rolled over deceased :and came to rest on top of him. Badly crushed, Mr Clark died before he could be admitted to the Whakatane Hospital. An inquest was opened before Mr <■*•<>. A. Brabant, J.P., district coroner, mnd adjourned after evidence of iden :tification had been given.
