CAMP AT ARAWA PARK
HUNT RACE MEETING NEW VENUE NECESSITATED Notification has been received by the Rotorua Racing Club that it is proposed, during October, to establish a large military camp on the racecourse at Arawa Park and that, as a result, it will be necessary to make arrangements to hold the oneday totalisator meeting of the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty* Hunt Club, scheduled for Saturday, October It), away from Rotorua. ' Negotiations are at present proceeding with the j object of arranging a new venue, j It is understood that the camp | will comprise all artillery sections of the territorial forces in the Northern Command; and will accommodate between 600 and 700 men during the whole of the month of October and possibly .for a longer period. Although the Racing Club has just completed extensive improvements to the course and preparations were in train for the Hunt Club's meeting, the necessity of meeting the wishes of the military authorities was realised when the suggestion was made that the camp should be established at Arawa Park. .
