FAKED FILMS AS NAZI PROPAGANDA
Effective use is being made by the Nazis in the Americas, Scandinavia, Russia and the Balkans of films taken by 'army photographers to impress the world with German might and invincibility. Attention is directed to this form of propaganda by Campbell Dixon, an Australian, who is film critic of the London Daily Telegraph. "The Germans attach to each army division a film unit, which is charged; with getting battle .shots," he says. "These are so faked as to become dehumanised, mechanised spectacles, with nobody being hurt while tanks and aircraft destroy fortifications. "Air bombing pictures are so mani pulated as not to reveal the realities of mutilation and death." Mr Dixon laments that Britain has got no further' than taking newspaper correspondents for trips in reconnaissance planes and motor torpedo boats.
