JEARLY MORNING TREMORS • A SWING FROM THE EAST Whakatane experienced the first -earth tremors for some weeks when three light shocks were felt early this morning. Two occurred at 4.15 a.m. and the third at about 4.25 a.m., the swing being from the east. Unlike previous shakes this year there was no rumble accompanying the tremors.-, -which were barely of sufficient strength to move pendant objects.
