GERMAN FALSEHOODS
OVERTAKEN BY TRUTH NAZI POLICY ROUTES Truth has already overtaken the absurd Greman, falsehoods which gained a temporary currency in certain neutral countries regarding the results of the recent mars German air attacks. The accuracy of the Brit'sh official reports is now freely accepted. Mr H. A. Knickerbocker, noted American j :u:rvalist, writing in the Hearst n;wspap;rs, declares: "The fact is ihat the R.A F. reports on Nazi and British losses are not only as accurate as man can make them, but they also understate the advantage the British are gaining over the Gsrinans." Mr Gault MacGowan, in the New York Sun, says the British reputation for under-s'atement should not be allowed to clou'Ji our judgment. There is no fear or panic, Mr James Macdonald in the New York Times, stales: "The British reports are about as correct as it is possible to make them." The German propaganda which was directed to proving to the world that the air blitzlireig had broken the British morale, has fai'e:l even more completely. The London correspondent of the Swiss newspaper Basler Nachrichten says: "As an eye witness, I confirm that the German attempts to undermine the morale and nerves of the British population were futile last week, and enabled a check to be made on German broadcasts. Tha people easily recognise fairy tales. Visiting London suburbs and southern countries, I saw with my own eyes everything normal and work con tinuing as usual."'
