BASKETBALL
The Whakatane Basketball Association concluded the sfeason with a knock-out tournament, held at the school grounds on Saturday. In the first round, Whakatane 9, defeated Poroporo 8 and Paroa defeated Taneatua 15-4. The final resulted in a win for Paroa by 14 points to 8. By its win in' the final the Paroa team gains the Phillips Gup and the Banner for the least points scor ed against them.
