TRUTH OF OUR SHORT WAVE An example of the value of the Australian short wave broadcasts for the denial of enemy propaganda is given in a week-end incident, says a Melbourne cable of July 22. It continues: In Italian broadcast at 1 p.m., the Italian short wave stated: "Australia has decided not to send additional troops to England. This is causing a painful impression in London." The statement was repeated by the German short wave at 4 p.m. " As soon as the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, left the war rally at Footscray, a direct denial by him was prepared for Australian short wave, and this denial, together with a news commentary on Australian Army plans,, was, broadcast .
