MICE IN RETREAT ON WHEAT FRONT
The plague of mice which has infested a large area of the wheat belt of the south- west of NeAV South Wales in recent weeks is declining rapidlj r , said the Director of Agriculture, Mr McDonald. "Comparatively little damage has been done to wheat, due to the precautionarj* measures taken at the beginning of the infestation," said Mr McDonald. "We were able to get the exposed wheat away from the infested localities that were free from mice. The other wheat in special storage silos, which were protected against mice infestation, lias not been affected. "The general position now is much improved, I '' Mr McDonald added, "and all reports from the wheat belt indicate'""that the mice are declining rapidly."
