ENTERTAINMENT SOLDIERS FAREWELL The public of Whakatane and district is cordially invited to a Public Farewell to the Soldiers of the 3rd Echelon to be held in the Winter Show Buildings on Saturday morning, August 10th, at 12.15 p.m. The parade of Returned Soldiers headed by the Caledonian Society's Pipe Band will assemble at the Rock at 11.45 a,m. and move off at 12 noon. His Worship the Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, and Mr J. L. Burnett, -the County Chairman, President of R.S A and Maori representatives will farewell the Soldiers, after which each will be presented Avith a gift from the community. Other district organisations, clubs and social groups, are especially invited to make presentations to their representatives of the Echelon at this function.
