The President extended a liearty welcome to ; Mrs-Woolfi%ld and other visitors. ~. , , Mesdames „Mwlho ; lla r 9d. v . Zinsli Were to represent; tane at, the Bi-annual Coupcil meet- , ing at Matata in September. : After the "business of the meeting was concluded Mrs Woolfield delivered . a very instructive, address 'on the" meeting of "Worn"en 9 s So- ! cieties in Wellington in July last. A demonstration of Italian ' quilt and felt work, by Mesdames Matthews and Stewart followed and the Drama Circle presented a play entitled "Accidents Will Happen." Those taking part Avere: Mesdames ' Morgan, Albiston, Sutcliffe, Burgess ' and Grey. - ■ The stall on /Members' Day resulted in the sum of £1 12s 6d being raised, and this was added to and 1 brought up to £2 and donated to Air Force Relations. A letter of thanks was received from the ; Minister of Finance, Hon. W. Nashy for the loan of £200 for the duration of the war. Competitions: Best Flower, Mrs C King 1. Fudge, Mrs Larsen 1, Mrs ' Mo ran 2. MEETING AT OTAKIRI The August monthly meeting of the Otakiri W.I. was held in the , Otakiri Hall on Wednesday the preMrs Tickner, presiding over > a fair attendance. [ The usual business was transactl ed and two new members were en- \ rolled. It was decided to hold & so- , cial evening, • combined with Cake . and Sweet Stalls, Produce Stall and T Sewing and Flower Stalls in aid of Patriotic Funds on September 18 in j the Otakiri Hall. ; A very interesting reading on the - early history of Otakiri was given • by Mrs G. Murray, and a useful de- » monstration by Mrs Rutherford on t hairpin work was also included. Mrs Cobden was elected Secretary r in place of Mrs Cristall who has . resigned. ; Winners of the competitions were: ; Best Flower: Mrs Tickner 1 and 2 J r Miss) I. Murray 3. Best Marmalade: » Mrs W.
