FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY-ONE VOLUNTEERS WHAKATANE AND DISTRICT'S RESPONSE We publish below the names of four hundred and sixty-one men from Whakatane and the immediate districts who volunteered for service with the Army, Nayy and Air Force. It is realised that this list is incomplete, many having enlisted in other centres, and comprises men whose enlistment was recorded by the recruiting officer in Whakatane, Lieutenant C. A. Head, to whom thanks are dua for his assistant in the compilation.
