CUTTING DOWN POHUTUKAWA OHOPE VANDALS Instances of the deliberate cutting down of pohutukawa trees at Ohope Beach, have been reported to the BEACON. A resident of the northern end states that he heard recently the sound of axes in the "Reserve and upon investigation found several trees cut down. Such wanton and thoughtless acts can only arouse the widest condemnation of all lovers of the native bush. Persons discovering further acts of spoilation would be doing Ohope and the Dominion a service by reporting it to the ranger or the county .authorities.
