DARNING NEEDLES WANTED When orders were last placed for darning needles lor inclusion as pait of the contents of hussils (pocket sewing kits) which the National Patriotic Fund Board through tl| > provincial patriotic councils and their committees undertook some time ago to provide for the Air'my and Navy, they were not availabVe in quantities as large as In an endeavour to assist in this direction an appeal was made in Wellington on behalif of the board inviting people to make gilts of darning needles. There was an enthusiastic response; in a week the Board received approximately 800 needles. It is felt that probably there are people in other districts who als'.o may be able to make dai-ning needles available to assist further tWe splendid work women and girls are doing in making and stocking the hussifs. Accordingly, they arc invited to co-operate. One darning needle and two sewing needles arc included in each hussif, but so far the same difficulty has not been experienced obtaining the full requirements of sewing needles. Gifts of darning ne*edlcs may be left with the Provincial Councils df any local patriotic committee.
