SECRETARY'S REPORT
INDICATIONS FOR COMING SEASON ELECTION OF DIRECTORS In reporting to the annual meet-, ing of the Bay of Plenty and Efrst Coast Herd Improvement Association on Friday, the Secretary, Mr G. R. Kent, stated:— I have to report that, the members of the Management Comyiittee representing the testing members of the Association who retired at the end of 1939-40 season, Messrs A, J. W. Kemp, F. J5. Savage, and W. J. Law, were the only nominations received for the vacancies thus created and are therefore re-elect-ed. I have received advice from the Secretary of the Dairy Board that the ballot for two seats representing the Dairy Factories in the district rendered vacant by "the retirement of Messrs W. R. Booh and H. R ! . ; Chrisp resulted in the appointment of Messrs W. R. Boon and P. Rob-* ertson. Since the close of the 1939-40 sea- 1 son the Association lias lost the services of four testing officers. These men wil-1 be replaced by four students of the Massey College Course and two Senior officers who are returning to this, work after leaving other Assoiatioris. One student who was sent to Massey College, went to the South Island Association. . Although canvassing for the coming season has not yet been completed the indications at this end of the district are for at least one extra group with probably more. The Gisborne-Wairoa end is always later in being completed but fn'e indications are for an increase in that area also.
