VALEDICTORY
MR AND MRS F. K. GRANT A pleasant afternono was spent at the Waiotahi School recently when Mr and Mrs F. K. Grant, who have been transferred to the Woodlands School, were the guests of honour. Mrs L. V. Looney, chairman of the committee, in a pleasing speech, presented Mr Grant with a well< filled wallet on behalf of the Waiotahi settlers. A fountain pen and pencil., the gift of the children, was presented by Betty Wyllie to Mr Grant. Mrs Grant was the recipient of a handsome brown handbag, and also a posy presented to her by Mary Bachmann. Mrs Wilson and, Mr Jessop paid tributes to the work done by Mr and Mrs Grant during their ten years' service- in the district, Mr - Grant responding. After the children had given several enjoyable items, afternoon tea was served by the ladies.
