GENEROUS DONATION
MR E. RUNNERSTRUM GIVES £100 PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE'S APPRECIATION The cxccutive committee of the -Zone G Whakatane County and' Inter-Zone Patriotic Committee met recently,,Mr J. L. Burnett presiding over Mesdames W. -Sullivan and L. W. Lux ton and Messrs J. W. Sumner, F. W. K. Ray miond, W. J. Murray, S. C. Spence, D. V. Saunders and the honorary Mr C. G. Lucas. Apologies were receivedf rorn Mrs Woolfield and Messrs W. Sullivan anil! >33. S. Barry. The abject of the special meeting was to consider a raffle, for which Mr E. Runnerstrum, of Ohope, had donated £100. It Avas resolved that Mr Runnerstrum be thanked lor his generous and that the raffle prizes "fcRiTA, Refrigerator; 2nd, A Gulbransoil 8-valve All-Wave Radio; 3rd, 'An order for £10 10s on a local, firm. McL. Wallace (Whakatane) 'Ltd. it is proposed to sell the ticket's at Is each, 15,000 to be printed, the raffle to close ' four months after .opening, or by November 30th at -/the latest .
