In the following few months, when the men of other units are called up, a still larger number will be in training. Serving in. some units are men whose incomes in civil life range up to £1,200 a year, and there are a few Avho are knehvn to earn £500 to £600 a year. To the city have gone about, 300. officers and non-commissioned officers of the three country infantry units—the First Battalion of the Hauraki (LieuLenant->Colono] B. R. Penlington), North Auckland (Lieu-tenanfc-Col. A. D. Jack, M.C, E.D.), and the Waikato Regiment (LieutCol. E.. M. Mnckerscy). They, in addition to officers and non-commissioned officers of fhe Auckland Company of the New Zealand. Scottish Regiment, will be in the school for three months' intensive training, after which the men of tihe units will be mobilised for three months'
