WOMEN'S DIVISION

AWAKERI BRANCH The June meeting of the Awakeri Branch Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was held recently, Mrs E. A. Haultain presiding over a good attendance. The meeting opened with the creed and then the minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A report of the recent Provincial Executive meeting was read by Mrs Ker. Arrangements were made for the Birthday Party to be held in the Awakeri Hall on July 19tli, to which members of branches of the Women's Divisions and Institutes 1 in surrounding districts were invited. A very interesting talk given by Mrs Pearson on her travels through Europe last year, was appreciated by all present. Competitions were won by the following:— Pyjamas: Mrs J. Graham 1, Mrs N. McDonald 2. Sausage Rolls: Mrs Butler 1, Mrs H. Luke 2. Flower: Mrs Ker 1, Mrs Maunder 2, Mrs Campbell 3. ] A dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostesses Mesdames Cleland, Crocker and A. Martin.
