MRS GIBBERD FAREWELLED PRESENTATION MADE The members and friends of tlie Whakatane; Croquet Club assembled at the residence of Mrs Burgess on. r Thursday afternoon, June 27th., to ; bid farewell to Mrs Gibberd who is ; leaving Whakatane to make her - home in Rotorua. ; Flag 500 was played the winning table being Mesdames W. Bridger, - s Jos Boon, Kent and Pearson. After a dainty afternoon tea had been served, Mrs Shaw expressed the Club's deep regret at losing such a good member and worker as Mrs Gibberd, but hoped she would often come back and enjoy some games on. the greens when she would always: receive a hearty welcome, and asjk- ■ ed Mrs Gibberd to accept a floating . bowl in remembrance of the club. Mrs-T. Mitchell, on behalf of the : Taneatua Club, expressed regret at " Mrs Gibberd's departure as on the : ' croquet lawns she was always the • life of the party. Mrs Gibberd thanked the ladies for all their kind wishes and said 1 she hoped often to return on a visit.
