BRITISH SUBMARINE'S F&AT DAMAGE AT TOBRUK The latest bulletin from Davent.ry, issued at 8.22 a.m., stated that a British submarine had < Jn i torpedjofiig £five < German supply ships off the coast of .Norway. All were in,, /; ':convoj , '.;ia^ ; ' : the -'"I^^ over the ian naval base at Tobruk shows that the damage caused 1 by the Royal Air Force's raid there was considerable. Two large ships were aground and other warships were either sunk or in difficulties. Two more Italian supply ships have been sunk and a good deal of Italian war material has been captured, including four million rounds of ammunition. It had previously been reported by radio that the United States destroyer Barry had wire lessedi: Have been hit by German submarine, can last out for three hours. The position was given as four hundred miles off the coast of Spain. The United States Naval office denies the report, stating that the Barry is peacefully at anchor. A touch of humour is provide ed by the announcement that during an air raid in Africa the Italians machine-gunned goats.
