A GENEROUS OFFER
FREE TREATMENT OF REFUGEE CHILDREN LOCAL DOCTORS AND DENTISTS An announcement which earned the applause of last Friday's meeting of the zone committee for evacuated children from England was made by the Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, who stated that he had received a spontaneous offer from the doctors and the dentists of Whakatahe J to give all children settled in this/disr trict free treatment during their stay. > "This. was a gesture whichs I personally,. deeply appreciated," said Mr Barry, and I feel that with that' kind of spirit abroad we will be able to do much to help mhlte up for what these unfortunate children are missing." The offer also received warm commendation from Mr E. Thorpe (Child Welfare Officer) of Hamilton who said that his department would, be most appreciative.
