In response to the Girl Guide* Empire appeal to buy two air am bulances and i\ motor lifeboat cost ing £20,000, the New Zealand Guide; raised £943 by voluntary subscrip tion during the week June 1 to 8. As the response has been so goot the New ' Zealand Headquarters i subscribing £57 toAvards the ex change, so that £800 sterling can bi paid over to the Girl Guides' Head , quarters in London. The Air Ministry promised tha immediately the money was, raiset ■ they would arrange for the two ai ambulances to make a test High round Great Britain. The appes closed in England on June 14tli.
